Joseph Telemaco Klein

We are sad to announce the passing of Joseph Telemaco Klein of Great Barrington, MA. Joe died at age 44 on October 22, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Elene Raiza Galilea, his son, Phoenix Octavio Klein, his father, Robert Klein, his mother, Jeannine Sapere, his brother, Abraham Klein, and his sister, Naomi Klein.

Joe met Elene at Camp Hill Village in Copake, NY and the Camp Hill community was family and home to him, long after he left. His compassion, patience, and care of the residents at Camp Hill was remarkable and awe inspiring. He is fondly remembered and loved by the community at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center in Falls Village, CT. His time at Gould Farm in Monterey, MA left an impression on both staff and guests, and it was the stepping stone to his love for community living and his connection to nature.

Joe was an irreplaceable soul with an enormous heart and just an all-around amazing human. He would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back, and he did so on more than one occasion. He was deeply spiritual and passionate about life. He loved fiercely, cared intensely, and was the most generous and kind-hearted soul. He was talented, bright, funny, and a great dancer, and he will be missed enormously.

Our hearts cannot imagine a world without him in it.

May Joe's soul rest in peace and in the arms of God. May his spirit soar ever upwards and be enveloped in the Light and may his Light shine on us all and his spirit watch over his son.
