Joseph K. Gentile

Joseph K. Gentile 71, most recently of Port Chester, N.Y. and formerly of the Morris Park section of the Bronx, N.Y. Died on March 22, 2018. He was born on Nov. 14, 1946 to the late Joseph and Dorothea(nee Ulich) Gentile in Bronx, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1963-1965 and was proud to be a “Seabee”. He was a retired Union Plumber, in construction and film and later retired from Con Edison. Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved the upstate outdoors  and was an avid NY Giants fan. He was a proud Chaplain of the American Legion Post # 90 in Mamaroneck, N.Y. Joe is survived by his loving children, Deedee (Anthony) Gentile Carpenito of North White Plains, N.Y. and Tawnee (Marco) Gentile Celso of Bronxville, N.Y. also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Madison Carpenito and his sister, Lynne DeLeo and his niece, Donna (Will) McDonagh and their children, Jenna and Joseph all of Pearl River, N.Y. A Celebration of His Life will take place at the Valhalla United Methodist Church in Valhalla, N.Y. on Tuesday, 4 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations to Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc. 7008 Little River Turnpike Annandale, VA 22003 purpleheartfoundation.org would be appreciated.
