We are saddened to announce the death of our loved one Joseph Caggiano, 66 of Eastchester, NY previously of Carmel, NY who passed away peacefully at home on August 24,2023 after a long battle with illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Ida Caggiano, father-in-law Joseph Panico, sister-in-laws Virginia and Susan, Brother-in-laws John and Alex and nephew John Michael. He is survived by his wife Marian Caggiano, his mother-in-law Mary Panico, his son Jerry Caggiano, Daughter Nicole Ricci, Daughter-in-law Jessica, Son-in-law Anthony, grandchildren Katie, Joey and Anthony, siblings Donna, Nancy and Tommy, brother-in-law Joe P as well as nieces and nephews and great niece and nephews.
Joe was born on June 13,1957 in the Bronx where he lived with his parents and siblings. As a young child he and his family moved to Eastchester where he met not only his best friend Joe Panico who would later become his brother-in-law but also his wife Marian.
Throughout Joes life he had the ability to work in different industries including driving trucks, cooking and repairing cars all in which he showed great dedication and knowledge. His passion was always cooking delicious meals for friends and family as well as being able to fix and repair cars. Joe was the type of person that if someone's car needed to be fixed he would help them, there were many times when Jerry and Nicole needed him to fix their cars while away at college and he wouldn't hesitate to stop what he was doing and drive the three hours away even during a snow storm, bad weather or holiday to go and fix the car. He was a problem solver and would find a way to make it work with whatever tools and materials he had.
Joes other passions were hunting and fishing. He always enjoyed going upstate hunting with his cousins and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed going on deep sea fishing excursions to different locations but most recently while he was sick he had the opportunity to go with friends on a few last fishing days, these brought him such joy and happiness especially the day he came home with a huge fish. All of these outdoor activities brought him back to the many great memories he had of camping and tubing down the river while in Boy Scouts. In lieu of flowers we invite you to make a donation to Jansen Hospice &Palliative Care which helped Joe stay as comfortable as possible in his last few months with us.
