Jonathan Jay Jerome, age 62, died after being struck by a car while crossing the street in Burlington, Vermont on December 20, 2018. He was a gentle and kind man with a large heart, who loved family and his community. He was born on April 5, 1956 and grew up in White Plains, New York. He was a graduate of Curry College and obtained his Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University in New York City. A resident of Winooski, Vermont, he was a board member of the National Association for Rights, Protection and Advocacy (NARPA) and provided peer support for others. He is survived by his brothers David and Richard; his uncle Arthur; his nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends, and he will be sorely missed. A funeral service will be held at Temple Sinai, 500 Swift St., South Burlington on Sunday, December 30, at 11 am, and burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New York on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 with a service at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Jonathan's name to a charity of your choice.
