John F. Recchia

John F. Recchia a resident of Mahopac, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021.

John Recchia was born on January 15, 1950, in White Plains, the son of John and Mildred Recchia of Elmsford, New York, who pre-deceased him. John was a lifelong resident of Elmsford, attended Woodlands High School , and earned his BA degree from Pace University .

He was President and owner of Retirement Wealth Advisory Group, Inc., and was appointed as a Registered Investment Advisor by the State of New York this year.  He also earned the certification of  Retirement Counselor and had completed requirements for certification as a Financial Planner by the Financial Planning Board of Standards.

Prior to establishing Retirement Wealth Advisory Group, John served as an Investment Advisor Representative with Pension Maxima Investment Advisory, Inc. He was an active member of the Financial Planning Association, and over his 25-year career in finance, he valued his business relationships with many respected clients including executives of several Fortune 500 companies.  He was also a member of the Financial Planning Association.  His personal and professional values centered on integrity, trust, accountability, and loyalty and these values defined both how he lived his life and how he conducted his business.

John was a very accomplished man who loved his family and gave so much of himself to everyone. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where he held the position of Treasurer for several years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served with the United States National Guard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (Van Duyne), his cherished children: sons John P, and wife Megan (Wells), and Paul M.; one daughter, Nicole and husband Dave (Trombetti), and two grandsons, Nash and Gage Trombetti.  He is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, as well as his beloved family of Yorkies; Cece, Coco, Pooh and Chloe the cat.

John was a passionate and avid golfer who played regularly with family, friends, and business associates. He was looking forward to sharing this passion with his grandsons. John enjoyed hunting and fishing and old time movies. He loved dancing which is what drew Barbara to John in 1971 at a place called Gigi’s in White Plains, NY.

Services will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Ballard Durand, Main St., Elmsford, NY; Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Main St., Elmsford, NY, 11:00 am Mass, followed by final goodbye at Ferncliff Cemetery, Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY.
