John E. Murphy

John Murphy 70, of Mount Kisco, NY passed away January 31st, 2022 with his family by his side.  He was born on September 2nd, 1951 to John and Gertrude (nee Cahill) Murphy in Staten Island, NY.

John is predeceased by his parents and sister Trudy Mezaber of Brooklyn, NY.  He is survived by his sister Cindy Parent of Mount Kisco, NY, his nephews and niece Timothy Parent (Mary), Ann Margaret Mezaber-Murphy (Scott) and Sal Mezaber (Lily), and his great nephews and niece Alexander Murphy, Brian Murphy, Samantha Murphy and Ryan Parent.

John graduated from Tottenville High School and worked for many years at Waldbaums Supermarket, then A&P until his retirement in 2016.  John enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  He loved cars, sports - especially NASCAR and the Yankees, and Westerns - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was his favorite.

John loved his family and pets very much.  He was a sweet and gentle soul, loved by all who knew him.

Visiting at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb.12, 2022 from 2-5 PM. Where Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM. Interment, St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Ossining, N.Y.
