John G Madonia

John Gareth Madonia, 73, of White Plains, New York passed away on May 10th 2026.

Born in Staten Island on March 27th 1953 to Frank and Betty Madonia, John earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology and later his M.B.A. from Iona University. He dedicated many years of his career to the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, where he helped oversee its financial operations and long-term development, eventually serving as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. His work contributed to the growth of one of Brooklyn's most historic industrial centers. Beyond work, his favorite moments were spent relaxing on the porch of the family upstate house, watching Giants games, and sharing meals with his family, who John valued and prioritized above all else.

John will be remembered for his gentle, soft-spoken nature and kind heart. He will be missed by his loving daughter Sophia, wife Elena, brothers Frank, Chris (Christine), Jim (Mary Grace), sister Liz (Bill), as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
