John Finan

It is with great sadness to share the passing of John Thomas Finan, who passed on July 25, 2025. John was born on April 20, 1943, in White Plains, NY, the son of Margaret Regan of County Roscommon, Ireland and William Finan of County Sligo, and was the youngest of five children. John was a master craftsman who could build anything. His meticulous attention to detail was well known by many and his work ethic was second to none. He was generous with his time and skills-always there to fix things for others and would come out to help on a moment's notice. John is survived by his loving wife Ann, his daughter Doreen Merkovsky and her husband John, his son John Casullo and his wife Maureen. He will be missed by his six grandchildren, John Jr., Diandra, Johnny, Christian, Justin, and Jason, and his great grandchild, Lucas. John is also survived by his sister Patricia and was predeceased by his parents, his siblings Bill, Jeanne (Vincent), James (Lucille), and many other family members and friends.

Funeral Mass

The funeral service to honor the life of John Finan will be held on July 30, 2025, at 10:30am at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Special Olympics, Virginia.
