Yonkers, NY

Jennifer A. Lavelli, a vibrant soul who graced this world with her fearlessness, passion, and love, passed away on May 27th, 2024, at the age of 64, surrounded by her loved ones at Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on July 1st, 1959, in the Bronx, NY, to Jacqueline and Richard Kleint, Jennifer brought joy and laughter into their lives from the moment she arrived. She leaves behind her aforementioned parents; long-time husband, Peter Lavelli; and cherished daughter, Ariana Lavelli.

Jennifer's journey was one of remarkable achievements and unwavering determination. She pursued her education at Mercy College to set herself up for a fulfilling future. She led a successful career as a marketing executive at Mastercard, where she left an indelible mark with her creativity and strategic vision. Later in life, she transitioned to become a Medicare consultant, utilizing her expertise to help others navigate the complexities of healthcare with compassion and understanding.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jennifer was a force of nature in her community. She was not bound by religious doctrine, but instead found solace and connection through her diverse interests and hobbies. Whether on the tennis court, playing pickleball, engaging in a game of Mahjong or Canasta, or sweating it out at Orangetheory, Jennifer radiated enthusiasm and brought people together with her infectious spirit. Her friends fondly joked that she would surely have an itinerary of activities prepared when they reunite, a testament to her zest for life and knack for planning unforgettable adventures.

Jennifer's love for exploration took her to far-flung corners of the globe, where she embraced new cultures and experiences with open arms. Her passion for travel was matched only by her kindness, as she eagerly shared her adventures and insights with those fortunate enough to accompany her on her journeys.

Her soul was not only one of curiosity and adventure, but of sincere generosity. She dedicated her time and energy to various philanthropic endeavors, volunteering at organizations such as Girls, Inc., the YWCA of Yonkers, and the Pajama Program. Jennifer served as a mentor to students at Westchester Community College and supported initiatives through Volunteer New York, Impact100, and Junior Achievement of New York. Additionally, she actively contributed to local councilman campaigns and was an avid supporter of Emily's List, advocating for the involvement of democratic young women in the community and politics. Her selflessness and commitment to making a positive difference touched countless lives and will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In remembrance of Jennifer's remarkable life, a Celebration of Life party will be held on September 8th (details TBD), where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her impact on their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to cancer research at https://raiseyourway.donordrive.com/campaign/jennifer-lavelli, in honor of Jennifer's courageous battle against the disease that ultimately claimed her.

Jennifer A. Lavelli's legacy will endure in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, compassion, and joie de vivre will continue to inspire and uplift us as we navigate life's journey without her physical presence. Though she may be gone from this world, her spirit will forever shine brightly, guiding us with love and light until we meet again.
