Jean Noel Schwartz, retired interior designer and a longtime resident of Eastchester, NY, died on July 5, 2025 as a result of cardio-pulmonary disease. She was 93 years old.

Mrs. Schwartz was born on October 7, 1931 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Arthur J. Noel and Mary C. (Martin) Noel. In Johnstown, she attended the Southmont schools. Then in Cresson, PA, she attended Francis Xavier School and Cresson High School. Finally, as a senior, she graduated from Southmont High School in 1949. She entered Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and studied interior design for a bachelor's degree. She then worked for a number of years as an interior designer for various companies.

In 1957, she married Raymond F. Schwartz at Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Westmont, PA. In 1962, they moved to Eastchester with their two young daughters and were parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, NY, where Mrs. Schwartz was a member of St. Veronica's Guild.

Very active in community organizations, Mrs. Schwartz served as president of Eastchester's SEPTA and president of the Scarsdale Art Association, and was very involved in the Scarsdale Woman's Club.

Mrs. Schwartz was predeceased by her husband in 2019 and by her daughter Elizabeth on February 18, 2025. She is survived by her daughter Angela Schwartz, her son Stephen V. Schwartz and her grandchildren Sophia and Benjamin.

Arrangements are being handled by Ballard-Durand Funeral Home. A burial mass will be held at a later date.
