James Donovan

James "Jim" S. Donovan, of Stormville, New York and formerly of Hawthorne, New York, passed away peacefully on January 19th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 28th, 1953 to the late James F. and Elizabeth Donovan (née Dolan). Jim was an Emergency Medical Technician for New York City Emergency Medical Services before joining the Metropolitan Transportation Authority/Metro-North Railroad where he worked as a Radio Maintainer and later as a supervisor in the radio shop, retiring in 2021. Jim was also an active member of several volunteer fire services. Most recently, he was a member of the St. James Fire Department in Southport, North Carolina. Prior to that, he was a member of the Hawthorne Fire Company in Hawthorne, New York and a life member of the Stormville Fire Company in Stormville, New York. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia (née Mullins), two sons Kevin P, James J. (Meghan); sisters Noreen Donovan, Therese Haughton (Roger); brother Kenneth Donovan (Kristina Rubio); two adorable and beloved granddaughters, Nora J. and Evelyn B. Donovan; nephews Joseph Smith, David Smith, Joseph Edwards, and Sean Edwards; niece Claire Mullins. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home in Hawthorne, New York on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 from 4-8PM. Funeral Mass at Holy Innocents Church in Pleasantville, New York on Wednesday, January 24th 2024 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York or the Stormville Fire Company in Stormville, New York.
