James Patrick Barrow

James “Jimmy” Patrick Barrow 81, of Riverdale, New York passed away on January 22, 2022.   He was born  March, 11, 1940 to Bridget and James Barrow of New York, New York.  He is survived by Sister Eileen Barrow of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill and his twin brother, Michael “Eddie” Barrow of Saint Petersburg, Fl, as well as a number of cousins and good friends. Jimmy was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School, and went to work for Railroad Express Agency.  Her served in the US Army for two years, then went into the Reserves and National Guard.  While based in Alaska he became a member of the Minus 49 Club. Upon separation, Jimmy joined the New York Telephone Company, working in New York and Washington.  Upon retirement he moved to Silverdale, Washington spending a number of years living happily in that area and making a number of good friends.  Jimmy returned to New York in 2004 and settled in Riverdale, reconnecting with friends and family.  Jimmy enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland, where he had many close friends including his girlfriend Madeline Aikens, who passed in 2020.

Visiting at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb.2,2022 from 10 AM-11AM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow.
