Inge Watkins

Inge Watkins passed away peacefully at home in Cortlandt Manor, New York, on April 22, 2026. She was 84 years old.

Inge was born on December 25, 1941, in Ellwangen, Germany, to Jakob and Georgette Weber (née Besenbruch). She later made her life in the United States, where she met and married her beloved husband, Charles Watkins, on August 20, 1960, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in White Plains, New York.

Together with her husband, Inge co-owned and worked at the family business, Watkins Welding and Machine Shop in White Plains, New York, where she was a dedicated and hardworking presence for many years.

Inge was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Giesela, Gerhard, Ursula, Dieter, and Claus. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Watkins; her loving children, Charles Watkins Jr., Jennifer Stevenson, Judy DeStefano, and Michele Lauro; her son-in-law, Christopher Lauro; and her cherished 11 grandchildren.

Inge was known for her love of family above all else. She found great joy in cooking and bringing everyone together for family gatherings filled with warmth, laughter, and good food. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. She enjoyed meeting new people and always loved having fun. Most of all, she loved life. She was also a dedicated New York Jets fan, proudly cheering on her team through the years.

Inge will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on through the family she cherished so dearly.
