Helen Gill, 96, of Manchester Center, Vermont, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 7, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease and breast cancer.

Born in the Bronx on December 1, 1928, Helen was the daughter of Esther and Joseph Klein. She lived a vibrant and rewarding life, most notably as the proprietor of The Onion Lamp, a beloved bed and breakfast she ran during the 1980s and 1990s. Professionally, Helen worked as an accountant for Brown & Hitchcock and later as a leading sales associate in home furnishings at Polo Factory Outlet and Dansk.

A proud and devoted member of the Manchester Center community, Helen cherished the Green Mountains and the many people who came to visit them year-round. Her warmth and welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Helen is survived by her two daughters: Barbara Gill-Vayo and her husband, William Vayo of White Plains, NY; and Susan Gill and her husband, Ronald Northrup of Sea Cliff, NY. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughter, Lucy Vayo and many beloved pets.
