Harvey Bender

Harvey L. Bender, born in Brooklyn, NY, and a lifelong resident of White Plains, NY, died unexpectedly, at home, on December 15, 2013. The son of Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Bender, who pre-deceased him, Harv is survived by his sister, Dr. Barbara Bender, his aunt and uncle Naomi and William Schlossberg, and many cousins, extended family members, and friends. A professional percussionist who studied at Ithaca College and the Juilliard School, Harv started performing with symphonies when he was 12 years old and went on to become an accomplished music teacher and conductor of musical theater. Harv also served as a Police Officer with the North Salem Police Department and volunteered as an auxiliary police officer in White Plains.
