Harry Silverman

Harry Silverman of White Plains died on March 31, 2014. He was 87 years old. Devoted husband of the late Shirley Silverman and the late Harriet (Schacter) Silverman, and loving father of Joseph Silverman. Grandfather of Deborah Robbins, Daniel Silverman, and Jonathan Silverman, great-grandfather of Ellen, Alexander, and Jacob Robbins, step-father of Daniel, Kenneth, and Jane Schacter, and brother of the late Murray Silverman, he also leaves his dear friend Susana Lionetti. Duplicate bridge was both Harry's vocation and avocation, and it took him around the country and around the world. He continued to play duplicate six times a week with his many bridge-playing friends, and with his family, until shortly before his death. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday April 2 at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry's memory to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or to other charitable organizations of one's choice.
