Harriet L. Foster

Harriet L. Foster passed away peacefully on February 25, 2018. She was 91.  She is survived by her loving nephews Steven (Louise), Richard (Diane) and David (Kim) Williams, three great nephews and one great niece.  A resident of Hawthorne, NY, since 1972, she was born in the Bronx to Seth and Lucille Foster; the family moved to Larchmont, NY in the early 1930s.  She graduated from Mamaroneck High School, attended Connecticut College for two years, then transferred to and graduated from New York University in 1948. Harriet worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for real estate firms and lawyers in Larchmont and White Plains.  Her passions were her animals, her garden, travel and music, but most of all she enjoyed her friends and family. She was active in the Hawthorne Reformed Church and before that the Larchmont Avenue Church. A visitation from 3 to 7pm, with prayer service at 4pm, will be held at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY, on Friday, March 2nd. There will be a memorial service at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Ave, Larchmont, NY, on Saturday, March 3rd, at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The National Wildlife Federation.
