Gertrude "Trudy" Rosen of White Plains passed away on November 20, 2024. Trudy was pre-deceased by her son Laurence "Larry" Rosen, who died just a few weeks before she did. She was also predeceased by her husband Irving Rosen, and her parents Emanuel and Bessie (Klein) Steer.

Born in New York City, Trudy grew up Brighton, Massachusets and graduated from Boston University. As a newlywed, she moved with her husband Irving to Chicago, where their two children were born. After several years in Chicago, they moved back to the east coast, and settled in White Plains, where Trudy would live for 70 years. Ever a Bostonian, her lifelong favorite foods remained clam chowder, lobster, and of course, ice cream.

Trudy returned to graduate school when her children were in high school, earning a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education. She taught kindergarten for many years at the Murray Avenue School in Larchmont, NY. After retiring, she volunteered as a docent at The Museum of Jewish Heritage in NYC, took art classes, and became a serious bridge player. Winters were spent on Siesta Key, Florida with her sister Dorothy Seltzer, where they took classes, attended lectures, played bridge, enjoyed art shows and opera performances, and relaxed on the beautiful beach.

Trudy is survived by her daughter Nan Statton (Ronald), grandchildren Evan Statton (Cori), Matthew Statton (Laura), Kate Statton Harman (Andrew), and great-grandsons Samuel and Benjamin Harman. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Seltzer and nephew Mark Seltzer (June Seraydar).
