German Jimenez

December 8, 1965 — May 6, 2024

Valhalla, NY

German Antonio Jimenez, 58, unexpectedly passed away on May 6, 2024 at Westchester Medical Center. He was born December 8, 1965 in Santiago, Chile, to Maria Barahona and German Jimenez.

German married Maria Jimenez on June 2, 1990 in Yonkers, NY. Together they built a beautiful life with their three children Arianna, Alexa, and Michael, starting in Yonkers then transferring to the town of Valhalla. He was the Crew Chief for American Airlines at JFK since the age of 18. German was a dedicated family and team member who worked all hours of the day to ensure a beautiful and comfortable life for his wife, children, and grandchild. German was perfection in the eyes of his family due to his unrelenting devotion to their happiness and aspirations in life.

German enjoyed nothing more in life than quality family time. Whether it was golfing with his son most spring/summer Mondays, watching any PGA tour event ( to the dismay of us all), teaching/guiding his daughters for the utmost success, watching football as a group (Go Cowboys!), babysitting his granddaughter Ava, watching the lions on NatGeo, and most importantly loving his wife unconditionally (even when it became a little annoying). He always told the same funny stories regardless of the frequency already told. He laughed in either a mischievous giggle or a hearty full chest laugh. We could always rely on him to put smiles on everyone's faces. We could always depend on German to keep us safe. We could always ask a favor and he would show up to our doorstep within minutes to help, even if it's just to help mount a new television.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Jimenez; mother and father, Maria Barahona and German Jimenez; stepfather, Gustavo Barahona; siblings, Maria Tissier and Marcelo Jimenez; children, Arianna, Alexa, and Michael; granddaughter, Ava Burke.

In lieu of flowers, German would love for you to donate in his name in any organization benefiting children. His favorites were Make-A-Wish, St. Jude's, or to our local Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.
