Geraldine DelTondo

Geraldine “Gerri” DelTondo passed away suddenly on July 31, 2022 at White Plains Hospital.  She was 85.  She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John DelTondo, who passed in 2012. Gerri was born Geraldine Ann Klonowski in Mt. Vernon, NY to loving parents, Santina & Benjamin Klonowski.  She grew up in The Bronx and later moved to Mt. Vernon where she spent her childhood together with her parents and Sister, Janet (Tyrrell).  She graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School in Mt. Vernon and later worked at General Foods (Tarrytown) as an Executive Administrative Assistant.  She met and married her husband John and lived in Greenburgh, NY before John’s career moved them to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They later retired and moved to Hampstead, N.C. where they resided until John’s passing.  Gerri then moved back to New York to be with her family. Gerri loved to Volunteer for many organizations including local Hospitals.  She loved to cook for her family, cross stitch, play cards, and entertain.  Some of her fondest memories were of times spent with family who came to visit from Out of town.  She was an avid Cat lover, some would call her the “CRAZY CAT LADY”.  She had many kitties throughout her lifetime.  They were all considered her “fur babies” and she loved and spoiled them considerably. She was a generous supporter of many organizations that helped animals including the Humane Society, and local institutions.    She was a devout Catholic and a Parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison.  Gerri is survived by her Sister, Janet, her Nieces, Kim (Mark) Palmer, Donna (Joe) D’Alesandro and Nephew Michael Tyrrell as well as many Great Nieces and Nephews.  ALL of whom were the loves of her life, and they will all miss her dearly! A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison on August 27, 2022  at 11AM.
