George Osgan Sanossian, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of his community, passed away after a long battle with renal cell carcinoma on April 20th at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family.
George was born on February 17, 1954, in New York City, to Ruth Boyajian Sanossian and George Haig Sanossian, both of whom predeceased him.
He was raised in the Bronx, where he attended P.S. 46, and later graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers. He went on to attend Fordham University, just blocks from where he grew up, graduating in 1975.
It was during his early professional years at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell that George met the love of his life, Carolyn. They married in 1979 and built a life together grounded in partnership, mutual respect, and an unwavering devotion to family.
In 1985, George founded his own accounting practice, dedicating himself tirelessly to his clients and his work.
Known for his integrity, discipline, and strong sense of responsibility, he built not just a successful business, but lasting relationships rooted in trust.
His work ethic was matched only by his humility and commitment to doing things the right way.
While George worked long hours to provide for his family, he remained a constant and steady presence in their lives.
He coached his children's sports teams, supported them in all of their pursuits, and led by example - instilling in them the values of hard work, fairness, and perseverance.
George was a longtime and devoted member of St. Gregory the Enlightener Armenian Church, where he supported the parish generously and remained closely connected to his faith and community.
He was also deeply connected to Sleepy Hollow Country Club, where he served as Greens Chairman for over a decade.
Though not formally trained in golf course architecture, George approached the role with characteristic dedication - immersing himself in study and working collaboratively to help guide the course to national recognition.
To him, the club was more than a place to play golf; it was a community and a place of lasting friendships.
In his later years, George found his greatest joy in being a grandfather.
He was a constant presence in the lives of his grandchildren - attending their games, playing with them, and sharing in the everyday moments that mattered most.
He had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and supported, and his grandchildren adored him.
George is survived by his brother Ron, his beloved wife of nearly 47 years, Carolyn; his children, Christopher (Kasey), Cynthia, (Ryan) and Cassandra as well as his seven grandchildren, Calvin, Sebastian, Everett, Cameron, Hayden, Taylor and Liam.
