George Christopher Martabano

George Christopher (Chris) Martabano 70, of South Salem, New York died on Oct.2, 2020. He was born in Mount Kisco, NY on July 4, 1950 to George A and Anna May Martabano of Katonah, NY. He was a graduate of John Jay High School, in Cross River NY with the Class of 1968. Chris worked for Whalen’s Moving and Storage in Mt. Kisco New York for 54 years, retiring in 2012. He is survived by his wife Sarah L. Martabano of South Salem, NY, daughters Phoebe C. Martabano of Brewster, NY, Candace L. Martabano of Portland, OR, and Whitney E. Martabano of Kerhonkson, NY, his brother Tom Martabano of Fleetwood, North Carolina, his sisters Joan Martabano of Valhalla and Susan Martabano of Marietta, Georgia and sister-in-law Karen Martabano of Cross River, NY. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Jimmy of Cross River, NY. Chris will be remembered for all the right reasons. He was an incredibly kind and generous man. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and friend. He believed in the best in everyone and was kind to all those he met. His family is eternally grateful for all the times he moved us, never losing his patience when we were never packed and ready when the trucks arrived. The family will be celebrating Chris’ life after the pandemic is over. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Vista Fire Department in South Salem, NY in his name.
