Born on May 9, 1935 Departed on February 11, 2016

George Phillip Lahrmann passed away peacefully on February 11, 2016. George was a graduate of White Plains High School, he then went on to complete his degree in economics from the University of Maine. George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, with a rank of Airman First Class. He was a Squadron Crew Chief on F-86 Jets, always saying he never lost a pilot. For the past 25 years, George served as President of Walker Surgical Associates in White Plains. George was born May 9, 1935 on Morris Park Avenue in the Bronx, and moved to White Plains in the 1950’s. George is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Ruth Cooke Lahrmann and his brother Henry Lahrmann. On November 14th, 1964, Dr. Elsie J. Manganello and George were married at St. John’s Church. The next 51 years together were magical. George was held in high regard by all who knew him, but none more so than his family. A role model to his many great, and great-great nieces and nephews, George was a gentle soul with a kind heart, wise mind and a twinkle in his eye. A perfect gentleman always, and a very special person. He is uncle to Frank A., and Michael X. Manganello, and his niece Linda M. Zulfer. For the last 41 years George enjoyed walking his five beloved pedigree German Shepherds through the Gedney Farms area, always making new friends along the way. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George can be made to the American Heart Association of the American Cancer Society. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, with entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
