George J. Eversmann

George J. Eversmann, 76, of Valhalla, NY passed away on December 17th, 2022. George was born on August 10,, 1946, to Emma and George Eversmann in the Bronx, New York. George graduated from St. Simon Stock High School in 1964. After graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1970 part of his service included fighting in the Vietnam War. He earned two Purple Hearts, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he went on to study at Manhattan College. Once graduated, he began his career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist until his retirement. He remained active after retirement with the Fred Eller American Legion Post 1447 in Rockland County. He spent his spare time listening to music, enjoying his gun collection, and always getting the latest Apple devices. He was predeceased by his parents Emma and George and his sister Charlotte. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie Eversmann, daughter Stephanie Olenik (Joe), son George Eversmann (Paula), grandchildren Bradley, Colin, Emily and Peyton; stepchildren Robert Ventura (Kari), Kara Ventura (Michael Bennetto), Dana Landesman (Kevin), step grandchildren Caroline, Cole, Charlotte, Juliana, Nate and Caitlin. The family would like to thank the VA Home at Montrose for their care for George over the course of the last six years. Friends and family are invited to call at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Hawthorne, New York, on Tuesday, December 20th from 4 pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 21st, at 10:15 AM at Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project .
