Gennaro Charles Villucci

Gennaro Charles (Jerry) Villucci passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017, he was 91 years old. Jerry was born on January 17, 1926 in New York. He was married for 59 years to Rena Louise who died in October 2016. Jerry was the youngest of the 9 children of Lorenzo (d.1977) and Angela (d.1969) Villucci. He is survived by 1 older brother Anthony (Uncle Tony); 2 sons Peter and Gerard; 6 grandchildren Theresa, Nicholas, Michael, Marc, Christopher and Joseph, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was the 1st member of his family to graduate from college receiving an associate’s degree in accounting from Pace. Jerry had a long and varied business career at a number of Fortune 500 companies including WR. Grace, General Electric, Fairchild Camera, American Express and the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Jerry was a devout Roman Catholic who was very involved at every parish in which he lived. He was a Knight of Columbus in the Bronx for many years. Most recently he was a parishioner at St. Christopher’s in Buchanan, NY where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, providing Holy Communion to residents at Bethel Springvale Inn where he resided for the last 4 years. Jerry was a life-long fan of the New York Yankees and New York Football Giants and passed his love for sports on to his children. He loved telling stories about sneaking in to Yankee Stadium as a young child, with his older brothers, to see the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio play. Hours of visitation will be 2-4PM and 7-9PM on Thursday January 26, 2017 at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Hawthorne, NY. A Roman Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 27, 2017 at 10AM at Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY.Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville, NY.
