In Memory of Freddie James Jackson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Freddie Jackson on August 5, 2026. He was 71 years old. Freddie graduated from Valhalla H.S. in 1973 and Mercy College in 1978. Freddie spent the majority of his corporate life in banking, most of it being employed with the Bank of NY and retiring from HSBC.

Born to Charles and Johnnie Jackson, he was the third of five children. He was a loving and very loved son, father, brother, and friend.

Freddie will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his terrible car karaoke, his love of sports, especially basketball, and most of all for being a genuinely good & kind person to all that met him. Fred had 4 biological siblings but also was a “brother” to so many of his close friends and became an uncle to their children as well. Freddie was loved by so many he grew up with, first from the section of White Plains called “The Valley”, then the “Parkway Homes” section of Greenburgh, and his classmates from Valhalla H.S., WCC, and Mercy.

He is survived by his daughter Janet and her mother Joan of Brooklyn, NY. Siblings: John (Franchon) of Acworth,GA, Bryant of Port Chester, NY and Tymera of Greenville,SC; and his nephews John Charles (Frances), Sean (Mia), and Shane (Alicia) of Atlanta,GA. Four great nieces: Charlize, Kennedy, Avery, & Britton and three great nephews: Shia, Zen, & Cambry. He also leaves behind a dear and cherished friend, Maureen Douglas of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Freddie was predeceased by his parents and his eldest brother Charlie/Chuckie.
