Evelyn M. (Groen) Mellor

Evelyn M. Mellor 89, formerly of Hawthorne, N.Y. and most recently of Venice, Fla. died on August 9, 2018. She was born on Nov.3, 1928 to the late Harry and Frances (nee Adams) Groen in Yonkers, N.Y. Evelyn was a former member of the Hawthorne Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, The Hawthorne Reformed Church and the Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert Mellor in 2012 and her sister, Dorothy Maiden. Evelyn is survived by her loving children, Gary (Sherry) Mellor of Wayne, N.J. and Laurie Wally of Englewood, Fla. also survived by her two cherished grandchildren, Kristy (Garrett) Woods of Raleigh, NC and Daniel Wally of Ft.Myers, Fla. and sister, Beatrice Pison of Palm Coast, Fla. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 10 AM-12 noon, where Funeral Services will take place at 12 noon. Interment, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Hawthorne Reformed Church, Bway, Hawthorne, N.Y. 10532, would be appreciated.
