Erika Bisconte

September 26, 1931 — October 11, 2022

White Plains

Erika Bisconte, 91, of White Plains, NY died unexpectedly on October 11, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center, with her daughters at her side. Erika was born in the Sudetenland in Germany, on Sept.26,1931 and grew up on a farm which was a very happy time in her life. After WWII ended, her family was relocated. The years after the war were difficult and she learned to be a very hard worker at the age of 13, and remained a hard worker all of her life.  She faced all of her struggles with strength and determination and was a fighter to the end.

Erika came to New York City in March 1957 upon her marriage. She was an avid gardener and loved to read, but above all she was a great animal lover. Erika believed in supporting the care and rescue of animals, and had a deep respect for our veterans. She is survived by two daughters, Rosanne (Joseph) Galante of Lancaster, Pa., and Diane (Geoffrey) Hart of White Plains, NY, six grandchildren- Geoffrey (Chrissy), Erika (Chris), Melissa, Freddy ( Miranda), Gregory and Joseph, and one great-grandchild, Kayleigh. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, Oct.14,2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Saturday, 9:45 AM. Entombment to follow at Kensico Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Valhalla, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers donations to Paws of War, would be appreciated to honor and support our veterans, active military members and first responders with services through the rescue and training of service dogs, adoption of companion animals, and the rescue of overseas animals in war zones such as the Ukraine.
