Elaine Cardinale

Elaine (Short) Cardinale 86, of Hawthorne, N.Y. passed away on July 15, 2016., after a long Courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Elaine was born on October 4, 1929 to the late William and Louise (Steuernagel) Short in Scarsdale, N.Y. She was a graduate of Scarsdale High School where she met her husband Louis. Elaine worked at Holy Rosary School in Hawthorne for 23 years. Elaine was always generous with her time and love to all, and especially enjoyed family vacations at the Jersey Shore. Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Louis Cardinale of Hawthorne, N.Y., her loving children, Susan Carter, Sheila (Ben) Dauria, Stephanie (Ron) Lukacs, Gerald (Janine) Cardinale. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Danelle, Russell, Kristen, Nicole, Daniel, Dean, Brandon and great grandchildren, Nick and Jade. Her one sibling, Sally Riedmann of Phoenix, AZ also survives. Elaine was predeceased by her daughter, Diane P. Cardinale. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday, 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Monday, 10 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations to Parkinson's Disease Foundation would be appreciated.
