Eileen Marie (Raftery) Imondo

Eileen Marie Imondo, 87, passed peacefully to eternal life on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the home in which she was raised, surrounded by her family.

Eileen was born on March 31, 1935, in Valhalla, NY to the late William Raftery of Galway, Ireland and Evelyn Carpenter Raftery of Alfred, Maine. She married the love of her life, Frank Imondo of White Plains, New York on November 5, 1955 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford, NY, where she was a lifelong parishioner. Eileen was the consummate homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her husband and children. She was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and deeply devoted to her Catholic faith.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years, as well as her six children Marie (Michael) Smith, Michelle (Bart) Hecht, Teresa (John) Speranza, Margaret (Guillermo) Vascones, Frank P. Imondo and Liam (Allison) Imondo. She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Gabrielle, Jordan (Sahara), Lee, Ethan, Michael, William, Hope, Kylie and Dylan.

Reposing at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Elmsford, NY. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.

In honor of Eileen's love of all animals and wildlife, memorial donations may be made in her name to Paws Crossed , Elmsford, NY.
