Edwin N. Preiser, age 96, a life-long resident of White Plains, passed away on October 21, 2018. Edwin was born on January 6, 1922 to the late Albert and Genevieve (Coombs) Preiser. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1940. Edwin worked for decades in the Preiser family Trucking and Rigging business founded by his father. Edwin loved the Catskill Mountains and since childhood spent many weekends and vacations at the Preiser-family property in Andes, NY. During his spare time, Edwin enjoyed listening to country music and searching out bargains at tag sales, frequently purchasing garments to give to charities. A long-time hobby was an interest in antique vehicles, particularly trucks. For the past 17 years, Edwin and his nephew Andrew have shown their antique Brockway trucks at the Annual National Brockway Truck Show held each August in Cortlandt, NY. Edwin was predeceased by four brothers, Albert, Adrian, George and William, and two sisters, Genevieve and Gloria (Cartledge). He is survived by his sister-in-law Ella, 13 nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. He will greatly missed.
