Edward Larry Hanby
August 16
th 1948 – February 3, 2022

Edward lived life to the fullest with his family and friends.

Born to Edward Riddle Hanby and Mary Hanby on August 16, 1948, Edward was raised in Bridgeton, NJ.   After high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served for 3 years during the Vietnam era. He was a custodian for 20 years within both the Ossining school district and Ossining Gospel Assembly Church. He then went on to work for the VA Home in Montrose for another 10 years.

Edward married the love of his life, Ruth, in 1971 and they just celebrated their 50th anniversary this past October.  Together, they had three children:  Jennifer (Mark), Nathaniel (Nicole), and Mark (Deb).  His eight grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel, Jonah, Micah, Matthew, Ryleigh, Ethan, and Abigail were a light in his life and brought him great pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Karen Mix and Barbara Taylor.

Family and faith were very important to Edward. He was a faithful, loving husband. He was a good provider and an excellent father to his children. His grandchildren always loved his humor and laughed with him.

There was nothing Edward couldn’t do once he set his mind to it:  He fixed cars, worked on home projects, and enjoyed working outdoors. He loved antique cars, building models, and listening to Johnny Cash and Elvis.

Edward passed away in his home on February 3 rd at 73 years old after a life well-lived.
