DORU - ORBITUARY

DORU-EUGENIU POPESCU, M.D. 83, of Scottsdale, AZ and Scarsdale, N.Y. died on Oct.28,2021. born in Romania, immigrated to the U.S. 41 years go. His successful career was cut short just 3 years later, following a  devastating car accident. He accepted the tragedy with unusual grace, dignity, stoicism, with his trademark sweet smile on his beautiful, peaceful face, radiating love and never complaining.

After 38 years of suffering and countless battles with death, our great fighter passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 28, 2021. An undeserved end to an exemplary life.

He has always been a role model and an inspiration for everyone who knew him. The brilliant, handsome, athletic, charismatic man will be remembered for his outstanding intelligence, honesty, intransigency, sense of humor.

He remains our hero, present always in our hearts and minds and time will not make him fade away in our memory.

He is survived by his pair soul wife of over 60 years, Coralia-Popescu, M.D., his daughter Adina Ioana Blackwell, his 2 grandsons “DeeDee” was so proud of, Jared-Anthony and Caleb-Andrew Blackwell, and a few lifetime friends.

So long, generous soul! We will always be with you in spirit and faith.

May God rest you in peace, with the angels, in a beautiful green place, full of light, “where there is no pain, no sadness, no sighs”, as our Saint Book says!

Goodbye, you’ll be with us ‘till our end, or the end of the world…  Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 9,2021 from 11AM-12 Noon, where religious services will be held at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
