Dorathea Asen

Dorothy Asen, age 85 of Purchase, NY passed away Wednesday,

January 28, 2026 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was born

August 22, 1940 in Port Jefferson, NY.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Sheldon

Asen. She is survived by two sons, Michael of Scarsdale, NY and

Matthew of Harrison NY, as well as her wonderful grandchildren: Luca,

Gia, Lauren and Christopher. She also leaves many other family

members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Those who knew Dorothy (Dottie) will know how deeply she loved her

family, especially her grandchildren. Known to them as Nana, she

spoiled them with her love, time, thoughts, prayers, gifts and all theenergy she could muster. She was an exceptional wife, mother and

Nana and will be dearly missed. May her memory be a blessing, and

may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

Funeral service will be held from 10 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Wednesday,

February 4, 2026, at Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services

located at 2 Maple Ave, White Plains, NY. Burial will follow at

Greenwood Union Cemetery at 215 North St., Rye, NY.
