Devore Freddie Torain

Mr. Devore Freddie Torain, 78, fell asleep in death on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his home in Burlington, North Carolina.
A native of Alamance County, NC he was the first born son of Dewitt Torain and Edna Thompson Torain, both deceased. Freddie is the husband of Ellen Goff Torain, who survives him. Devore was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Nixon (maiden name - Torain) and Jacqueline "Jackie" Torain.

Freddie's survivors include his devoted Wife of almost 50 years: Ellen Torain; Children: Devore Rodney Torain, Amadeus Nick Goff - nephew, Yvette Darling - niece and Erica Milner (Todd) all of New York; Brother: Edward "Eddie" Torain (Ola) of New York; Sister: Joan McCollum of Burlington; 9 Grandchildren; and a large number of "special" loved ones that include in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.

The public viewing, formal funeral and burial arrangements for Freddie will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in White Plains, New York.
This is a place that was near and dear to his heart for over 55 years where Freddie worked, lived, raised his family and made connections & memories to last a lifetime.
