Dennis McMahon, 48 years young, blessed this earth from August 26, 1974 until February 14, 2023. Dennis was loved and admired by his family and friends. His smile lit up every place he went. The sound of his commanding voice and genuine laughter will be in our hearts forever. If you were lucky enough to know Dennis - and so many people were - you knew of his unmatched thoughtfulness, loyalty and generosity. He would give you the shirt off his back even if you didn't ask for it.
Those who knew Dennis, also know that he wouldn't want us to grieve for him; rather, he'd expect us to carry on his example of strength, kindness and forgiveness to others. The world was a better place with Dennis in it, and now, undoubtedly, heaven is. We will meet Dennis, husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend again.
Dennis is survived by his wife Colleen (Licursi) McMahon. Dennis and Colleen married in 2001 and renewed their wedding vows in 2021. The love they shared is unending.
Dennis is survived by his two adoring daughters, Madison and Molly McMahon. Hardly a more proud and devoted father has existed.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Lyn (Hanrahan) McMahon, siblings, Brian, Ellen, Kevin and Paul; mother-in-law, Ginny Licursi; sisters-in-law, Corinne Licursi and Marcie, Solange and Candice McMahon; brother-in-law, Robert Kane; nieces and nephews, Lilly, Charlotte and Ian Kane, Patrick, Rebecca, Landon, Cameron, Benjamin, Henry and Victoria McMahon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
A graduate of Annunciation School and Fordham Prep, he attended Manhattan College. Dennis went on to work for the Operating Engineers Local 14 for many years. Dennis was committed to a life of health and fitness, enjoying bicycling, spending hours at the gym or sweating it out at hot yoga classes with his beloved wife Colleen. He enjoyed a good meal, complete with every appetizer on the menu; he would gather with family and friends whenever possible. He surely viewed every wildlife and animal documentary ever created.
