Dasio Fernandez

Dasio Fernandez, born in Goyan, Spain and a proud American died on February 21st 2018 at the age of 80 years young. A long time resident of Valhalla,NY having served his country and community with pride. He was a Veteran of the Korean conflict and retired from Metro North RailRoad. Dasio (Dan), joined the Volunteer Valhalla Fire Department in the early 70’s and was dutiful to the cause in the preservation of his community for many years. He leaves us with continued hopes for a peaceful future for our country and family. Our family, heartbroken and proud of his accomplishments remain forever grateful for having had him in our lives. Carol Fernandez , devoted wife of 50 years and beyond. His two step children, Steven and Denise Batis both grateful and proud to have called him Dad. As well, there are many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will miss his smile. The family will have a service at the Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 1pm to 5pm. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate in Dasio Fernandez’s memory to the Mount Pleasant Police Department in Valhalla who many times responded respectfully to his needs when he fell in the middle of night and couldn't get up. We are so grateful to the police officers.
