Croton-on-Hudson – Daniel E. Klein, a lifelong Westchester County resident died after a long illness on February 27, 2022, at the age of 71. He was born September 12, 1950, the fourth son of the late Bertram and Mary Klein.
He is survived by his siblings, Dr. Noah Klein (Beverly) of Pocatello, Idaho, Hon. David Klein (Ellen) of Mamaroneck, NY and Jonathan Klein (Barbara) of Manalapan, NJ, along with seven nieces and nephews.
Despite having to undergo dialysis three times each week, despite undergoing numerous surgeries and despite having mobility difficulties, he never complained, even when finally going to meet the higher power in whom he steadfastly believed.
Daniel loved to travel, especially by air and made new friends wherever he went. His address book noted friends as far away as Hawaii, the Midwest and numerous points east. Over the years he developed a reputation as a the “family historian”. Every sibling, sister-in-law, niece and nephew could expect a telephone call on their birthday from Uncle Dan. He settles arguments about the dates of past notable family events with such confidence and authority that no one thought to question his pronouncements. On his softer side, every cat within reach enjoyed the ear scratches and belly rubs he generously bestowed.
Kindhearted, generous, and loving. We will miss him.
Funeral services will be held at Ballard Durand, 2 Maple Ave. White Plains, NY 10601 on Friday, March 4th at 11am. Graveside immediately following.
