Claudia M. Edwards of White Plains, NY, age 63, passed away at home on Monday, October 11. She was the loving daughter of Margaret and Arnold Edwards (deceased), and sister of Jeffrey of Portland, OR, and his wife Margaret, and Christopher of Wappingers Falls, NY, and his wife Nancy. She was the loving aunt of nephew Mark Edwards of Denver, CO, and niece Kimberly Constable, (Rodney) of Marlboro, NY, and grand-niece Cecelia Constable.
Claudia was born October 17, 1957 and spent her childhood in Yonkers, NY. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, she attended SUNY Cortland. After college, she worked as a school bus driver and other jobs before settling in at the Postal Service, where she worked for 32 years. Her years leading to retirement in 2016 were spent at the USPS Distribution Center in White Plains, NY, where she was a valued member of the supply team in the maintenance department.
Outside of work, Claudia was dedicated to caring for her mother before her passing. Claudia loved her three cats and was a passionate hockey fan, particularly of the New Jersey Devils. Claudia’s greatest joy was being an aunt and great-aunt to Kim, Mark and Cece, and she shared many loving moments with them.
There will be a Memorial Service at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY 10601, at 12 noon on Thursday, October 21. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in her name to the Westchester SPCA https://spcawestchester.org/donate.
