Cecelia Nassetta

Cecelia Nassetta, 97, of North White Plains, NY died peacefully at White Plains Hospital on June 4, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family. Cecelia was born on January 24, 1925 to the late Joseph and Veronica (Wassko) Scavnicky in Struthers, Ohio. Cecelia later moved to New York City where she met her devoted husband, Anthony, of 56 years. Cecelia was a beautiful and caring person with a great sense of humor. She was the matriarch of the family and was the last surviving of ten Scavnicky children. Cecelia was incredibly organized and enjoyed time cooking, playing games, traveling, in addition to spending time with her family whom she loved very much. Cecelia was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony F. Nassetta whom she married on October 4, 1947, her son Mark J. Nassetta, and nine siblings, Joseph, Edward, John, Emma, Mary, Michael, Margaret, Agnes and Stephen. She is survived by her loving son, Anthony P. Nassetta of North White Plains, NY, her beloved grandchildren, Michele Nassetta Mullen and Mark Nassetta, and her daughter-in-law, Clare Nassetta. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7,2022 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Wednesday, 10 AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
