Catherine Theresa (Caulfield) Savage passed into eternal glory on January 11, 2026, at her home in Haines Falls, New York. She was born on August 29, 1934, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to Catherine and Thomas Caulfield. Affectionately known as Tess or “TC,” she was deeply loved for her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit.

In 1957, Tess married the love of her life, Roland (“Ro”) Savage. Together they began their family in Whitestone, Queens, later settling in Freeport, Long Island, before purchasing their dream home in Haines Falls.

Tess worked at Hearst Publishing for more than 20 years, where she formed many lasting friendships. She was known for her wide smile and infectious laugh, which brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.

In her retirement years, Tess especially cherished time spent with her sisters. Summers were often spent in Bayside with her sister Bonnie, enjoying afternoons at the pool clubhouse, while winters spent in New Port Richey, Florida, with her sister Mary (and brother-in-law Jim) were filled with their beloved “adventures,” which usually included shopping.

Beyond her love for family, Tess enjoyed crocheting, sewing, watching movies, savoring a good cup of tea, and indulging in sweets.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Roland, her sisters Mary Blaney and Bonnie Wedelstaedt, her brother John Caulfield, cherished nephews Eddie Wedelstaedt, Jimmy Blaney and Keith Savage, and great niece Katie Savage, Tess is survived by her children Theresa Kottwitz (Robbie), Tom Savage (Diane), and John Savage (Jeanine). She adored her grandchildren James Kottwitz, Michael Kottwitz (Lisa), Jessica Harte (Chris), Nathan Savage, Cameron Savage, and Valerie and Vanessa Savage, and took great joy in her great-grandchildren Lila and Morgan Kottwitz and Rory and Liam Harte.

A woman of quiet faith and deep devotion to her family, Tess trusted in God’s promises throughout her life. We commend her now to God’s loving mercy, confident that she has been welcomed into eternal peace and joyfully reunited with her beloved husband and family who have gone before her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
