Carmine Rocco 96, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on May 30, 2020. He was born on Nov. 19, 1923 to the late Peter and Frances (nee Pondecorvo) Rocco in Eastchester, N.Y. Carmine proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He was a retired Electrical Engineer with NBC in NYC. Carmine was also a longtime member of The American Legion Post, The Thornwood Lions Club and The Mount Pleasant Italian American Association. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Lucy (nee Altamura) Rocco in 2002 and by his three brothers and one sister. Carmine is survived by his loving companion, Theresa Bruno and by his loving sons, Carmine F. (Phyllis) Rocco, Jr. of Waynesville, NC and Robert J. (Margaret) Rocco of New Fairfield, CT, one sister, Jean D’Ambrosio of Thornwood, NY also survived by his two cherished grandchildren, Andy and Chris Rocco. A private family Entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Due to the Current World Health Crisis, a public Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Thornwood Lions Club, would be appreciated.
