Carmen lived in Puerto Rico and was raised by her Maternal Grandmother until she was 8years old. Carmen then came to the USA, in 1946 and was reunited with her natural Mother Rose Mayo. By that time Rose was married to Harry Mayo and as a United family they lived lived in NYC.
Carmen married Michael S. Pappas and moved to Rockland County where she raised her three children. She then went back to school and became a Teachers Assistant at the Birchwood School in West Nyack, NY. There she touched the hearts of many students and those she worked with. She retired from teaching to spend most of her time with her family and friends. Her love of Gardening was well known to those who loved her.
She also had the good fortune to see her Grandchildren be raised in the same house as she raised her own children in. Then watched as her two Great Grandchildren visit her in that very house. She leaves her Husband Michael Pappas, children: Denise, Michael and Christopher; her Grandchildren: Erika, Michael, Nicholas, and Steven; and her Great Grandchildren: C.J. & Scarlet. Although she is gone, she will not be forgotten.
