Carmel Teresa Boyle, of Hartsdale, NY and formerly of the Bronx, passed away on December 10, 2018, at White Plains Hospital, at age 85. Carmel was born on March 25, 1933 in the Rathmines section of Dublin, Ireland, to Norah O'Riordan and Matthew McNulty. She was one of eight children and is predeceased by her siblings Michael, Isabella "Bella", Noreen "Liz", Nuala and Noel. She married John Boyle on October 28, 1961 in Dublin. She worked in Ireland, England and the U.S. and was a master knitter, seamstress and painter.
She is predeceased by her daughter Josephine, who passed in April 1964 and by her son Stephen, who passed in March 2017. She is survived by her husband, John "Eddie" Boyle, her brother-in-law, Msgr. Francis Boyle and by her daughter-in-law Lauren Moore and grandchildren Lachlan and Blake Boyle. She is also survived by her sister Antoinette, brother Matthew, Sister Lill and many nieces and nephews.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Carmel touched are invited to the BALLARD-DURAND FUNERAL HOME, 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY 10523 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and
6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Friday, December 14th, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 10 a.m at Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale, NY followed by burial at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
