Betty was born on September 2, 1948, in the Bronx, New York to the late Louise Miller and Calvin Lilly. She was raised in the Bronx alongside her four sisters in the Patterson Housing Projects. Betty shared a special bond with her sisters Frances Lilly, who survives her, and the late Janice Lilly, Jeanne Lilly, and Barbara (Marlene) Lilly.
Betty was a loving and caring person who touched the lives of many. She was the proud mother of her adopted son, Anthony Castro, who preceded her in death.
Betty leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Katherine (Kathy) Newby, Rhonda (Nicky) Lilly, Calvin (Poppy) Lilly, Darlyn Carmona, Darrin Carmona, Carrie LeGrand, and Jason LeGrand.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Dionna Carlisle, Darnell Steen, Nakai Steen, Jada Evans, Serenity Carmona, Jason LeGrand Jr., Darrin Carmona Jr., Josiah LeGrand, Sharai Barbee, and Ja'Nyah Barbee, as well as her beloved great-nephew Judah LeGrand, who preceded her in death.
Betty was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her memory will continue to live on through all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a special place in her heart for her two beloved dogs, Hazel and Tank, who brought her great companionship and joy.
Betty's presence brought love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured forever. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave will remain with us.
Betty Ann Lilly will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten. She will forever have a place in our hearts.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts. 🌿
Rest peacefully, Aunt Betty.
Your love and memory will live on through all of us.
