ANTHONY FRANK VERANO
BRIDGEPORT, CT - Anthony (Tony) F. Verano 94, passed
away peacefully July 9, 2025 in Bridgeport Hospital.
He was born January 4, 1931 in West Harrison, NY the
son of Frank and Rose (Viscomi) Verano.
Tony's family was the center of his world. He was
the most loving, caring, and giving son, husband, father,
and grandfather. His belief in living life with integrity,
honesty, and responsibility was passed on as life lessons
to those around him. His spirit and those lessons will
forever be a part of us.
Tony graduated from White Plains High School.
Following graduation he served in the U.S. Navy. While
in the service he married his high school sweetheart,
Clara Cosentino. They celebrated 74 years of marriage
July 8, 2025. Together they enjoyed being snowbirds
living between their homes in Venice, FL and Monroe, CT
later returning to West Harrison, NY and subsequently to
assisted living in Shelton, CT.
After serving in the Navy, Tony returned home to family
Life and starting a career. Throughout his life he enjoyed
sports playing tennis, football, basketball, golf, downhill
skiing, and ski jumping.
Tony began his career working in the mail room of the
County Trust Bank in White Plains. After years of dedicated
work having worked for State National Bank
of Connecticut, Fleet Bank, Connecticut Bank and Trust,
and Bank of America, he retired as Senior Vice President
of Auditing from Gateway bank. Throughout his career he
excelled, completing multiple banking and finance
certifications. He went on to teach auditing at the
American Institute of Banking. Tony is listed in both Who's
Who in America and Who's Who in Banking and Finance
Tony is survived by his loving wife Clara Cosentino
Verano, daughter Diana Verano, granddaughters
Chavelyin Karlovich-Colleran (Liam) and Toni-Marie
Verano (Nick). He is also survived by several nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. Tony was predeceased
by his parents Frank and Rose Verano, sister Gloria
Douillard, daughter Rosemarie Verano, and grandson
Anthony Karlovich.

center, organization that provides outreach to seniors,
or local food bank.
