Anthony R. Sannella

Anthony R. Sannella 96, of Yonkers, N.Y. died peacefully on Jan.1,2023 at NY Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, N.Y. Anthony is survived by 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. His beloved wife of 54 years Antoinette passed away in 2020. Anthony retired as a butcher. He enjoyed horses and going to the race track. Besides his family, Anthony loved the United States Army. As a veteran, he served in two wars, WW11 1945-1946 and the Korean War 1950-1951. Anthony served 35 years in the U.S. Army reserves and retired as a Sergeant. His greatest passion was volunteering at the V.A. Hospital in the Bronx, N.Y. He volunteered more then 20,000 hours helping the Paralyzed Veterans. He also traveled and assisted with the Paralyzed Veterans Special Olympics annually back in the late 90's and early 2000's. He will be deeply missed.

Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, Jan.6,2023 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Saturday, 10:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, N.Y.
