Ann Y. Mastromonaco

Ann Yolanda Mastromonaco formerly of Valhalla, N.Y. sadly passed on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the age of 97.  Ann was the proud daughter of Italian immigrants Martin and Josephine Foglia.  She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where she met the absolute love of her life, Domenick Mastromonaco.  They were happily married for 73 years before Domenick's passing in 2017.  Together, Domenick and Ann raised five children:  Ralph (Barbara), Randy (Lydia), Janice Kehrli (John), MaryJo Barr (Michael) and Martin (Lisa).  In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Ann was the proud and successful business owner of Mayfair Wines & Liquors. As an early ‘Foodie’, Ann will be remembered for her love of preparing traditional Italian specialties and sharing them with her extended family and many friends. She had an uncanny ability to remember the birthdays of almost everyone she met, and always made sure to call or send a card to the many who were lucky enough to know her.  Never at a loss for words, and known for her keen sense of humor, Ann shared her anecdotes, opinions and advice with wit, love, laughter and tenderness. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made her grands all feel extra special.

In addition to her husband, Ann is predeceased by her brother Rudolph and his wife Marie, brother Martin and wife Brenda and sister Jeanne and brother-in-law Eugene.  She is survived by her five children, ten grandchildren: Russell, Alyssa, Lauren, Alison, Cassandra, Aimee, Ralph, Derek, Hunter and Jake, and nine great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Aubrey, Cole, Julia, Gabriella, Juliette, Sienna, Gianna, and Finn.  She is also survived by her brother Henry, wife Yvonne, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan.26,2022 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday, Jan.27,2022 at 11 AM. Interment to follow.  Facial Masks are required by all.
