Anita Hickey

Anita Hickey (née LoCicero), of Hawthorne, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 12, 2025. She was born in the Bronx, NY, on August 31, 1945, to Madeline (Caldarraro) and Benjamin LoCicero.

Anita graduated from Saint Helena's Business School and began her career with Metropolitan Life Insurance in Manhattan. She met the love of her life, Patrick Hickey Sr., when they were just teenagers, and in 1964 they were married, beginning a beautiful union blessed with two sons, Patrick Jr. and Kevin.

In 1973, Anita and Patrick Sr. opened Hickey Door Service in Hawthorne, NY, where Anita worked as owner and secretary until her retirement in 2012. She was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Church and an active participant in the Rosarians until her passing.

Anita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Patrick Sr., and her brother, Joseph LoCicero. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children Patrick Jr. (Michele) and Kevin (Regina), her adopted daughter Nicola McKenzie, and her cherished grandchildren Samantha, Danielle, Sean, Patrick, and Cori. Anita was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Lorenzo, who was born on the day of her passing.

She is also survived by her sister Bridget (Dennis) O'Brien and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends who were like family. Anita will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery alongside her husband, Patrick.

Anita's warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
