Andrew T. Prior

Andrew T. Prior 63, of Thornwood, NY a devoted, loving, and thoughtful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend died at White Plains Hospital on April 21, 2016. Andy, born on February 13, 1953 to Margaret and Bernard Prior, was raised in his beloved Woodlawn section of the Bronx. Andy, whose humor brightened all our lives, was a voracious reader, music and movie lover, New York City enthusiast, and passionate Civil War historian. A dedicated member of his community, he organized the Holy Rosary Pancake Breakfast for 13 years. Andy earned his MPA from Pace University, finishing at the top of his class. He helped countless lives while working in Child and Adult Protective Services of Westchester County for 36 years. In retirement he worked at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Andy is survived by Philomena, his wife of 39 years, their children Andrew and Kathryn, as well as his siblings John, Mary, and Bernie Prior, his niece Kerry (Joe) Puleo and nephews Justin (Leslie) O'Malley, Patrick Prior, and Jim (Cheri) O'Neil. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Monday 4-9 PM, Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY Tuesday 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
